BioFascia Connect

Myofascial Release & Bodywork

Persistent tension, stiffness, discomfort, reduced mobility… A different approach to addressing tension in the body by working with the fascia.

Release deep-seated tension. Rediscover your fluidity.

The body sometimes holds far more than we imagine:

• Accumulated stress
• Deep tension
• Nervous exhaustion
• Rigid posture
• Feeling of being constricted
• Restricted breathing
• Difficulty relaxing.

And over time, the body adapts:
The tissues lose their flexibility, and movement gradually becomes less fluid. Tension then begins to manifest in various areas of the body, negatively affecting physical comfort and the overall sense of well-being.

Tissue Listening and Holistic Reharmonization

BioFascia Connect, a form of myofascial release, is a manual therapy approach focused on listening to the tissues, the quality of touch, and respecting the body’s natural rhythm.

Through slow, deep, and precise touch, the treatment gradually addresses areas of tension and restriction to promote greater mobility, flexibility, and fluidity of movement.

This approach can be especially helpful when you feel tense, stiff, or constricted, when certain tensions seem to have been there for a long time, or simply when you feel the need to slow down completely and reconnect with your body.

BioFascia Connect does not seek to impose a movement on the body: the touch listens, guides, and adapts to whatever arises.

This approach may be particularly appreciated if:

• You feel your body is constantly tense
• You have trouble mentally disconnecting
• You feel as though you’ve been carrying certain tensions for a long time
• You feel the need to slow down deeply
• Your body feels stiff, constricted, or blocked
• You want to regain more inner space, flexibility, and presence

Slowing down sometimes allows the body to regain more space, mobility, and presence.

A BioFascia Connect session at Shengdo

Each session begins with a time for welcoming and listening.

The treatment is performed directly on the skin while you lie comfortably on a massage table. The touch is slow, deep, and attentive, always respectful of your sensitivity and your body’s natural rhythm.

Taking breaks allows you to gradually become aware of the sensations and physical changes that may arise during the session.

The work does not focus on strength or performance, but rather on the precision of touch and an understanding of the fabrics.

Here, the body is not forced. It is listened to.

About the BioFascia Connect Method

About BioFascia Connect

Manual fascia work is part of a long-standing evolution in bodywork approaches. Beginning in the 1970s, American physical therapist John F. Barnes developed and taught his approach to Myofascial Release, which would become one of the international standards for manual fascia work.

Over the decades, various fascia-focused methods have emerged, each with its own concepts and approach to the body. Among them is the Danis Bois Method of Fasciatherapy, developed in the early 1980s, which places particular emphasis on listening to the tissues, relational touch, and body awareness.

Other approaches have also continued this exploration of fascia, notably myofasciology, associated with the work of Jean-François Brabant.

BioFascia Connect, an approach developed by Agnès Dumortier, founder of YHIMBA and the YHIMBA School, is part of this broad family of fascial work. It combines manual fascial work and tissue listening with principles drawn from Shiatsu and the Five Elements theory of traditional Chinese medicine to offer a holistic approach that is deeply attuned to the body.
